Boasting uninterrupted views of the Aran Islands, this detached property is on the Wild Atlantic Way and is less than ½ mile from a pretty beach. The area is called Trá Bháin, which is translated as ’White Beach’, and there is also a coral beach in the area. Sit on the patio or in the conservatory and watch the sun go down on the Atlantic Ocean or snuggle down in front of the open fire in the living room. This detached, contemporary house has all the comforts of home, yet is totally removed from everyday living as the ocean and the hills are your neighbours.
The name Lettermore means ’great rough hillside’, and certainly when you drive into the area you are greeted by very unusual looking countryside, giving one the feeling of ’getting away from it all’. There are miles of walking routes in the area and a little further are afield many unspoilt hills to climb. Galway city, home to numerous festivals is only 30 miles away, as is the fishing mecca of Oughterard, and Clifden is 40 miles away. This holiday property is ideally located to tour Connemara, and trips to the Aran Islands are available from Rossaveal and water activities and fishing are available locally.
The Féile an Dóllin is one of the west of Ireland’s premier festivals and takes place annually on the shores of Carraroe during the August Bank Holiday weekend. The golf enthusiast is also catered for with the Connemara Isles Golf Club, 8 miles away. With its coastal location, it’s a challenging but very memorable golf experience! Ballyconneely Golf Links and Oughterard Parkland Golf Club are a little further afield. Beach ½ mile. Shop 5 miles, pub 2½ miles, restaurant 4 miles.
