This delightful pair of semi-detached holiday cottages have been converted from a former barn and are situated in a quiet, rural location in the beautiful, unspoilt South Tyne Valley on the Cumbrian/Northumbrian border, only 12 miles from Haltwhistle. The cottages are just 6 miles from the heritage site of Hadrians Wall, which has many areas to explore including the fort at Birdoswald and the fascinating archaeological site of Vindolanda, with its Roman history museum. Standing within a small cluster of homes, the properties are in the North Pennine Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and surrounded by beautiful landscapes. The Pennine Way runs along side the property and is a great walking route, and there are many footpaths and groomed cycle ways allow guests the freedom to explore the stone-walled fields and surrounding moorland. The location is perfectly situated as a touring base for exploring a wealth of natural and historical treasures in the area. The Scottish border and the Lake District are 25 miles away. Nearby Alston, 6 miles, the highest market town in England, offers an interesting array of shops, cafes, pubs and galleries. There is also a steam engine railway, plus an 18-hole golf course. Shop 6 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
