The Cedars is an old croft house from the turn of the century that has been modernised over time. Set out in the countryside, surrounded by fields and the sea, it has a spectacular feeling of isolation and tranquility. Helped by being situated at the road end, and through its own five-bar gates, you feel like you’re getting away from it all before you’ve even stepped into the property. Pulling up at this detached cottage, you will no doubt be attracted to its ’nestled into the landscape’ look. It really does look like it was meant to be built where it has been positioned, sheltered from the prevailing winds, but with views out to sea and the Outer Hebrides.

Entering the property you arrive into the spacious hallway, which has ample space for hanging coats and leaving boots after long days out exploring the Isle of Skye coastlines and mountains. From the hallway there is a large farmhouse-style kitchen with lovely characterful wooden floors and all the modern appliances you will need. There is also a large cupboard which contains an extra freezer, as well as a small breakfast table and many different tools for making excellent coffee to enjoy lazy mornings at The Cedars. Back to the hallway, the family bathroom with shower over bath is spacious and renovated to a good standard. The main space that you will want to spend a lot of your time in is the living room, with a fantastic open fire as well as patio doors leading to decking which has an outstanding view out to sea. There is a double bedroom which has been nicely finished, and then another hallway which leads to a small dining area and the master bedroom with views out to sea. The enclosed garden has a cleverly positioned summerhouse that affords shelter from the wind and brilliant views of the Minch and Outer Hebrides.

The Cedars is a world away from normal life, and it’s perfect for an island escape. However, you’re not far from many highlights of the Isle of Skye. The Talisker Distillery and Talisker Bay are both within walking distance. The Cuillin Mountains are also very close by if you wish to go climbing. Alternatively, Dunvegan and Portree are not far away to keep in touch with a more normal life. The Cedars is a special property and one that you will want to return to time and time again.
