Six self-catering holiday cottages set in a superb secluded, south facing location at the heart of Exmoor and within walking distance, across the fields, of the village of Wheddon Cross, approximately ¼ mile away. The cottages are 1,000 feet above sea level at the head of the Quarme Valley with fantastic views over the owners’ 17 acres of farmland. Pets are accepted in every cottage (refs: W44011, W44012, W44013, W44014, W44015, W44016) and each has its own small enclosed garden or patio.
As well as being a great holiday destination, Little Quarme Cottages is also a licensed wedding venue, where you and your party can hire the entire complex for your celebrations.
The village of Wheddon Cross has a pub, well-stocked shop and petrol station. Venturing further on to Exmoor, Dunkery Beacon, Exmoor’s highest point, is a short drive or a good walk from the cottages. Other Exmoor highlights include Tarr Stepps, the river at Lanacre and the pretty village of Withypool. The medieval village of Dunster is full of charm and has its imposing castle (National Trust) which towers over the village centre. The seaside villages of Porlock and Porlock Weir are worth a visit, as are the Victorian towns of Lynton and Lynmouth with the famous cliff railway. There are beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor Bay as well as the town of Minehead, where you will find a good range of shops and amenities, and the West Somerset Steam Railway. Horse riding, golf and fishing are all available locally. Beach 10 miles. Shop and pub 500 yards.
