Come and enjoy the delights of Pengelli Cottage situated on a 250-acre working beef and sheep farm in the heart of rural Pembrokeshire, this delightful cottage is tucked away down a country lane near the quaint hamlet of Eglwyswrw on the edge of the Preseli Hills. Enjoy waking up on a working farm with cows, sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks and you can even have the option to visit the animals, pick your own fresh eggs and, depending on time of year, bottle-feed the lambs.
Within a 10 minute drive you can uncover the dramatic North Pembrokeshire coastline with a plethora of fantastic beaches, coves and rugged cliffs to explore with Newport Sands, Poppit and Mwnt close by, and ideal for swimming, surfing and building sandcastles.
There are fantastic walks from the door, a 160-acre wood which is part of the largest ancient oak woodland in West Wales, or for a longer walk, wander through these woods to Castel Henllys, a reconstructed Iron Age Hill Fort set in 30-acres of woodland and river meadows with a café to enjoy a well-earned freshly brewed coffee and homemade cake.
Pengelli Cottage is attached to the owner’s property though still private and has been thoughtfully furnished throughout to provide a great stay. The cottage has its own separate entrance and garden. The bright and airy living room boasts a wood burner to curl up in front of on an evening with a glass of wine after a busy day exploring. The open plan kitchen and dining room offers a great space to cook that special meal or you may prefer to dine al fresco with a BBQ and enjoy the countryside. On the first floor the bedrooms have been lovingly decorated and furnished to provide a good night’s sleep.
Take a trip to Cardigan Castle dating back to the late 11th century with commanding views along the River Teifi and out towards the Cardigan Bay. The Welsh Wildlife Centre in Cilgerran is around a 15 minute drive and great for all ages to explore with a café, boardwalk and a plethora of bird and wildlife to spot. Around 40 minutes away is the walled town of Tenby complete with Blue Flag beach, cobbled streets and picture postcard harbour. Folly Farm Zoo, Heatherton World of Activities and Oakwood theme park are all within a 45 minute drive. Beach 7 miles. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 2 miles. Additional £15 charge per dog.
