With inspirational south-westerly views across Sussex and the Weald, Merryweathers embraces stylish open plan living with great flexibility in its layout.
The impressive open-plan living area is the main hub of activity, with a vaulted skylit ceiling above the raised sitting room and recessed "café style" blue lighting. The central kitchen and dining area is a large, inviting space to gather family and friends for food, drinks and stories. Two sets of French doors to the wide balconies bring the house and garden together, watching the sun set over a stunning panorama of enchanting views. Natural oak flooring throughout the rest of the ground floor links the rooms seamlessly, allowing natural light to reflect.
This spacious self-catering celebration house has eight bedrooms and two open sleeping areas over three floors, along with 4 bath/shower rooms (including 2 en-suites, with a Jacuzzi bath to the master bedroom). The variety of accommodation on offer suits groups of friends or large family gatherings who want to escape to the countryside and celebrate a special occasion, or simply spend quality time together in beautiful surroundings.
The flexibility of Merryweathers is also ideal for business retreats, team building and and corporate away days; with several high-profile companies and international delegates regularly returning. A second open plan sitting room and kitchen on the lower ground floor makes for a perfect break-out room from the main space upstairs, and there are many off-site activities nearby.
Merryweathers offers an in-house catering service. "Merry Cuisine" offers complete freedom to select anything from a light lunch, fine dining or a buffet BBQ in the wonderful gardens. Guests can choose to have pre-prepared food delivered, or take advantage of the full service to cook, serve and clear away in-house, leaving you free to relax.
The walled gardens have been imaginatively landscaped to provide several wonderfully distinct outdoor spaces. Adjoining the house is an expansive sun terrace edged with a feature water wall, and a large pergola draped with grape vines, under which you can dine en masse Italian style. Steps lead down to an impressive arbour and a formal parterre garden with fruit trees, and to the side there is a kitchen garden with vegetables and herbs - all yours to enjoy when in season. Espaliered apple and pear trees have been trained along the old south facing wall, and a pair of "standard" bay trees overlook a lower level lawn, ideal for football and other outdoor games.
