From Dunkery Beacon at 1707ft there are panoramic views to Wales, Dartmoor and beyond. Minehead is only 10 miles away with a beach, harbour and fantastic steam railway. Historic Dunster with its medieval castle (NT) is one of the prettiest villages on Exmoor. Porlock, Watchet and Dulverton offer interesting shops and tea shops where you can enjoy a traditional Somerset cream tea. There are many places to visit locally including Knightshayes Court, a splendid Victorian house at Tiverton. Shop and pub 750 yards.
