The perfect choice for a large family gathering or a romantic couples escape, Beaconside has something for everyone. This delightful site is located just outside of Bideford in the beautiful and peaceful North Devon countryside. The large country house has four smaller holiday cottages surrounding it and nine unique glamping cabins nestled further down the valley within the magical Annery Woods, featured in ‘Tarka the Otter’.
The whole site can sleep over 50 people in comfort and luxury, with facilities that are sure to provide everyone with plenty of opportunity for relaxation. These include both indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, outdoor hot tubs, a games room, acres of private woodland and private fishing!
Tucked away in the ancient Annery woodlands, are Beaconside’s nine individually styled cabins. From scandi to boutique, each cabin has been carefully designed and gives you everything you need! Follow the festoon lit pathways under the canopy of trees and step inside the cabin to find your unique experience. Within your cosy cabin you’ll find a king size bed, an en-suite shower room, kitchen with a combi oven with two hot plates and a sofa bed chair.
Experience an adventure, the cabins are located in the woodlands and can be accessed by a sloping footpath. Please note, they’re not wheelchair accessible.
Beaconside is the ultimate all-year round retreat only 10 minutes from North Devon’s glorious golden sand beaches and coastal walks.
Annery woods which is mentioned in ‘Tarka the Otter’ forms part of the grounds of Beaconside and you can join the famous Tarka Trail which is close by and is ideal for walking or cycling. Why not meander around the many delightful shops, pubs and restaurants that Bideford has to offer, with its regular pannier and water front markets, all within a few miles?
Take a boat trip to the nature reserve at Lundy Island or explore many pretty fishing villages including nearby Clovelly and Appledore. Instow is just 6 miles and is a pretty, unspoilt, seaside village with large stretches of sandy beaches and dunes, fishermen’s cottages, shops and a good selection of pubs and restaurants specialising in locally caught seafood. The wide golden sandy beach of Westward Ho!, popular with surfers, is just 5 miles, with Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe all close by.
There are numerous National Trust properties in the area including Arlington and Hartland Abbey, as well as the RHS gardens at Rosemoor and Docton Mill. Hartland Quay and lighthouse are well worth a visit and for family fun, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way adventure parks are close by.
Golf, horse riding, fishing, surfing, mountain boarding, karting and high ropes are available locally, and the wild beauty of Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bodmin moors are all within easy driving distance, as is the famous Eden Project.
